This photo was used on the cover for "Pictures of the Times: A Century of Photography From The New York Times," published by New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1996. Ruth Snyder was a Queens woman who murdered her husband with the help of her lover, Judd Gray, in March 1927. Their sensational
