Constructed of silvered and patinated bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed double overlaid starburst pattern, with a central silvered disc overlaid by a silvered War Merit Cross with Swords, set within a circular laurel leaf wreath wrapped in ribbon and joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing a date of 1941, trimmed along both the inner and outer edges with red enameled rings, the
