Originally founded as the Harlem Black Bombers by financier James Soldier Boy Semler and dancer Bill Bojangles Robinson, they became the New York Black Yankees in 1933 and played in the NNL until 1948. NY greats include Satchel Paige, Fats Jenkins, Goose Curry, Flash Miller, and Willie Wells.
