Constructed of gilded and silver bronze with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with black enameled arms, overlaid by a central enameled medallion featuring a white enameled disc overlaid by a Hohenzollern style imperial eagle, within a ring of black enamel bearing a gilt inscription of PREUSSENS TAPFEREN KRIEGERN (PRUSSIAS
